Pop Up Galleries Workshop

  • Prøve Gallery 21 N Lake Ave Duluth, MN, 55802 United States (map)

Join us for a collaborative presentation on activating vacant commercial property with temporary visual displays, aka "pop ups."

Joan Vorderbruggen will share images and storytelling from her project, Made Here, which is the largest storefront initiative of it's kind in the nation, currently hosting 38 visual displays over 16 city blocks in downtown, Mpls.

Jami Rosenthal who leads Duluth Pop Up Galleries will also give an update about this project that hopes to add to the beauty of downtown Duluth with the help of local artists! This project produces galleries in storefront windows that are accessible anytime, day or night, and appealing even to those who might not usually engage in art spaces.

About Made Here
With Made Here, Hennepin Theatre Trust showcases Minnesota’s wealth of artistic talent to activate the vibrant downtown Minneapolis Cultural District. From locally created visual displays in vacant storefronts, to pop-up parks and art galleries and live performances in commercial spaces, the rich diversity of the Twin Cities’ cultural community is front and center for all to share.

The Cultural District stretches from the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden to the Mississippi Riverfront to create a unified, attractive and walkable destination to benefit residents, businesses and property owners, artists and visitors alike.

The Cultural District in downtown Minneapolis is led by Hennepin Theatre Trust with active partners Artspace, the City of Minneapolis and Walker Art Center.
